- Take 1 tsp Mustard seed

- Take 4 dry red chillies
Steps to make Udupi sambar:
- Wash and Cook thoor dhal in a pressure cooker with turmeric powder. Mash and keep.
- Heat a pan, add 1tsp oil, fry all the dry ingredients and remove pan and add coconut, mix, let it cool. Grind as paste
- In a vessel cook the vegetables until soft, add mashed dhal, ground paste, jaggery, salt to taste, and add tamarind juice.
- Let it boil for few mins, now tempering the sambar with mustard seed, chilli, curry leaves. If you like add 1tbs of ghee to add more flavour
