Instructions to make Masala Fried Idli:

  1. First, take a bowl add suji and curd and add water and mix it well to make a semi-thick consistency and rest it for 15 minutes.
  2. Now after that it will get little thicker so add more water to make a idli batter consistency.Now add salt in it and mix it well.
  3. Now grease the idli moulds and add fruit salt in the last and lightly mix it and pour the batter in a mould and steam it for 10 minutes or microwave it for 2minutes 30 seconds.
  4. After cooling down demould all the idlis.And cut it in to four parts.
  5. Now grind the tomatoes and chillies to make a smooth paste.
  6. Now take a kadhai add 2 tbsp oil and heat it. Now add mustard seeds and crackle them and add curry leaves. Now add sliced onion and cook it for 2 minutes. Now add our tomato puree and mix it well. Now add salt,red chilli, turmeric powder,deggi mirch and mix it well and cook it for 2 minutes and now add tomato ketchup and mix well. Now add little water to make a thick gravy and cook it for a minute.
  7. Now add all idlis in this gravy and mix gently so that idlis get covered with gravy.And finally add coriander leaves.
