To get started with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have fried rice using 5 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Fried rice:

  1. Make ready 1 onion
  2. Make ready 1 bell pepper
  3. Make ready 1 zucchini
  4. Make ready 1 bunch spinach
  5. Prepare 2 cup basmati c or jasmine rice

Instructions to make Fried rice:

  1. cook rice. use which ever rice you have. make sure that the rice is properly cooked otherwise the final dish will be dry
  2. while the rice is cooking chop the onion, bell pepper and the zucchini into the preferred serving sizes. I usually chop them into 0.5 cm cubes
  3. slowly fry the onions with either olive oil or veggie oil
  4. once the onions are a little glazy add the bell pepper as this takes longer to cook than zucchini. once the bell pepper is a little soft and the sweet taste has been release add the chopped zucchini. fry the ingredients on low heat until the rice is cooked.
  5. add the rice to the fried veggies and increase the heat. add pepper, soy sauce, and whichever seasoning you have lying around that you feel would add taste. for example paprika powder, cumin powder, oregano, some tomatoes sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, etc.
  6. stir fry until all the ingredients are properly cooked and the rice has a few deep fried grains. lastly add the fresh spinach leaves and some freshly pressed garlic
  7. can be served as the main dish or as a side dish. for example tonight I’m making the fried rice as a side dish to oven baked chicken breasts
